Knox County Community Foundation Awards $115,000 to 16 Nonprofit Partners
The Knox County Community Foundation distributed $115,000 in grants to 16 local nonprofit organizations through their 2022 Community Good Grants program.
This year’s grants provide flexible funding for a variety of charitable projects and organizations serving Knox County.
The grants recipients are:
$5,000 to Vincennes Rotary Foundation to assist with the purchase of three different pieces of playground equipment for Christyn’s Place at Four Lakes Park;
- $22,000 to City of Vincennes to purchase Shade Structures to be installed in the City Parks;
- $1,000 to United Way of Knox County Indiana to assist with the purchase of additional Bed Time in a Box for youth entering Kindergarten;
- $15,000 to Knox County Public Library to assist with transforming the Fortnightly Building into the Community Learning Kitchen;
- $4,000 to Vincennes University Foundation to purchase books for children, and to buy supplies for StoryWalk on the Wabash and materials needed for all activities and games needed for enrichment activities;
- $2,500 to Isaiah 117 House Knox County, IN to assist with the purchase of a storage shed;
- $2,500 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley to purchase food, pantry items, and supplies that families can prepare for themselves when staying at the Ronald McDonald House;
- $15,000 to The Pantheon Educational Center to assist with the purchase and installation of tracks, motors, and the drapery of a curtain system on The Pantheon stage;
- $5,000 to Northwest Territory Art Guild to assist with the support of the 1st City Public Sculpture Exhibition 2022;
$15,000 to Vincennes Cub League, Inc. to assist with the Yellow Diamond Renovation project;
- $1,000 to Thursday Church to purchase non-perishables, fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains, and dairy for their Food Pantry;
- $3,500 to Salvation Army Vincennes Corps to assist with the cost of the Caseworker and fuel costs for social service clients;
- $5,000 to North Knox Social Ministries to assist with the Utility Assistance program;
- $1,000 to Old Towne Players Community Theater to assist with the expenses of royalties, scripts, music, costumes, and set construction for Christmas Productions of “A Christmas Carol” and “The Grouch;
- $2,500 to Backpacks of Love for VCSC to assist with the purchase of food and the bags to send food home with students; and
- $15,000 to American Legion to purchase new rifles for military funeral services performed by the All-Weather Firing Squad.
Funding for the program is provided by donors and organizations establishing and donating to 31 Community Good (Unrestricted) Funds held by the Foundation. Those funds are:
